6:00 PM:   Education Roundtable led by Perry Farnum
An audience participation hour, with the goal to sharpen report writing skills.   The room discusses how they report conditions observed during an inspection.  The conditions are presented visually, pre-submitted comments are read and evaluated the room. Do the comments clearly identify the condition, locate it, describe it, define why it is an issue, and recommend what to do about it?  This is always a lively discussion and challenging session for inspectors new and old.

7:00 PM:  TBD  led by Skip Walker

A look at the codes governing balcony design over the past few codes cycles, the latest codes and what may be coming. Skip was an expert on the Library Gardens (Berkeley CA) collapse that claimed the lives of six UC Berkeley students and left another in a wheelchair for life. The presentation will include some never before seen forensic photos of the Berkeley Balcony as a way to reinforce the importance of proper balcony construction.
 Skip has many published articles in the CREIA Inspector Journal and the ASHI Reporter relating to building safety. He is a certified preferred provider and Building Inspector through the International Code Council.
