This Month’s Dinner Education: DOE and The Home Energy Score
6:00 PM: Education Roundtable led by Perry Farnum
An audience participation hour, with the goal to sharpen report writing skills. The room discusses how they report conditions observed during an inspection. The conditions are presented visually, pre-submitted comments are read and evaluated the room. Do the comments clearly identify the condition, locate it, describe it, define why it is an issue, and recommend what to do about it? This is always a lively discussion and challenging session for inspectors new and old.

7:00 PM: Home Energy Score led by Brent Loya
Brent Loya has a degree in Interior Design and helped form I.D. Energy. Brent serves as the Home Energy Score Program Manager. In January of 2018 he was awarded the U.S. Department Of Energy (DOE) Leadership Award for “Championing The Home Energy Score.” His company received the Innovation Award from the DOE in April 2018.
Brent will discuss The DOE’s Home Energy Score and the course his company provides both online and in a live classroom setting. Brent will describe what’s in an Energy Score, how to get your certification, and how to market a Home Energy Score to your clients. Don’t miss this chance to find out about a growing area of interest and potential business opportunity.
