6:00 PM: Education Roundtable led by Perry Farnum
An audience participation hour, with the goal to sharpen report writing skills. The room discusses how they report conditions observed during an inspection. The conditions are presented visually, pre-submitted comments are read and evaluated the room. Do the comments clearly identify the condition, locate it, describe it, define why it is an issue, and recommend what to do about it? This is always a lively discussion and challenging session for inspectors new and old.
7:00 PM: The Rising Cost of Construction, led by Mark Garrison, MG Constructors & Engineers
Mark Garrison, President of MG Constructors and Engineers, Inc, is going to discuss how the rapidly rising cost of construction in the Bay Area may affect your risk as a home inspector. What we used to tell our clients “off the record” (which of course is always on the record) may be far more out dated than you may think. How can one bad claim affect you once your E&O runs dry? A sobering conversation that will only make you a better inspector.
